Position Details

Job Title: Relationship Manager – Asset Rehabilitation and Recoveries
Position Grade: OG-I / AVP
Location: Karachi
Department: Special Assets Management
Reporting To: Wing Head – Asset Rehabilitation




Educational and Professional Qualification

Candidates applying for this position must meet the following academic requirements:

Minimum Graduation from an HEC-recognized local or international university/college/institute.

Master’s degree or any other relevant professional qualification will be preferred.


This qualification ensures candidates have the theoretical and technical grounding required for complex financial restructuring and asset recovery functions.




Experience Requirements

To qualify, applicants must demonstrate a solid track record of professional experience in banking and asset management:

Minimum of 4 years of banking experience, including at least 1 year in managing Asset Restructuring & Rehabilitation and/or dealing with recovery portfolios.

Candidates with experience in corporate or commercial banking (business or risk management) or legal/litigation related to financial recoveries will be highly preferred.


This experience criterion ensures candidates are capable of handling the complex financial, legal, and operational challenges that come with asset rehabilitation.




Skills and Expertise Required

NBP is looking for individuals who bring not just experience but also strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Candidates should have:

Sound knowledge of Retail, SME, and Agri financing.

Familiarity with SBP Prudential Regulations.

Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

A proven record as a team player with strong decision-making capability.

Key Responsibilities

The Relationship Manager – Asset Rehabilitation and Recoveries will be responsible for a wide range of strategic and operational duties, including:

1. Develop and Implement Remedial Strategies:

Design and execute plans for the rehabilitation of non-performing portfolios.



2. Proposal Preparation:

Draft proposals for out-of-court settlements, restructuring, or rescheduling for management approval.



3. Portfolio Management:

Oversee portfolios, manage waiver cases, and process approval requests.



4. Policy Implementation:

Ensure all restructuring/rescheduling activities comply with State Bank of Pakistan regulations and NBP policies.



5. Risk Assessment:

Conduct financial reviews of tagged accounts to identify risks and opportunities for credit recovery.



6. Legal Coordination:

Work closely with NBP’s Legal Division and Credit Administration to handle litigation, documentation, and compliance.



7. Client Communication:

Make timely client calls, record communications, and ensure a proper audit trail.



8. Reporting and Compliance:

Prepare management reports (MIS), monitor portfolio progress, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.



9. Additional Duties:

Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors to support the asset recovery function.

Assessment and Selection Process
